![]() ![]() You know my bike, I bring it here for all my service you guys have changed the oil and filter 3 times without anyone questioning my mileage”. But for sure the owner was saying “ I don’t give a sxxx what your tool says!! My bike only has 4,000 miles on it!”” But I for sure thought the owner sealed his own fate by saying in the next breath “ …. I didn’t think a tune would change the odometer either. The owner of the 2020 was yelling so loud I thought he was going to pop a vein in his brain. who sold me mine what the specifics were on this. I’ve got to go back to that dealership this afternoon to pick up a new helmet and and full Akra exhaust so I’ll definitely ask the rep. I thought he was going to go ballistic when the manager told him his bike with only 3,888 miles on it was only worth 8-10k and would have to go to auction. I didn’t want to add insult to injury but I sure did want to ask the guy if he had a tune. Has anyone else run into this with ECU flashing? I would like to hear feedback from you all before I go down the path. The Service manager handed the owner of the 2020 some sort of computer print out, I presume it was from a BMW service techs scan tool, that showed the owner of the 2020 the actual mileage of first service and the date and time when the mileage stopped recording with the stock ECU parameters which were different and actually started the mileage again at 0 miles. As one could imagine the owner of the 2020 was livid and made a scene enough to cause the dealership to call the police. The dealer stated that the value of the 2020 model was deeply diminished due his odometer reading could not be verified as it was changed. Recently in the BMW dealer picking up my new steed and overheard the General Manager and Service Manager telling a customer who was trading his 2020 model BMW s1000rr Red in on a 2021 M Sport. Thirty two years of riding sport bikes and until know die hard Kawasaki Ninja, Zx10rr rider/owner. Bought new 2021 M-model and love it so far.
